At BIS Schools, our fundamental priority is to ensure the consistent implementation of shared academic standards across all our campuses and to provide our students with a high-quality, sustainable and holistic education that is fully aligned with our institutional culture.

In this context, under the regulations of the Ministry of National Education, parents are not required to purchase the resources identified for our students. The purchase of these resources is not a condition of enrolment or continued attendance at our school.

At the same time, the quality of a school’s education is shaped not only by its curriculum and teaching staff, but also by the complete academic framework created through printed resources, digital content, educational platforms, assessment and evaluation tools, and all academic materials that support the student learning process.

In order to maintain the educational standards offered by BIS Schools, together with the academic approach derived from our international school culture, at the same level of quality across all our campuses, our educational programme is planned around resources, content and materials that have been carefully developed and reviewed from both pedagogical and academic perspectives, are aligned with international educational approaches, meet defined quality standards, and enable our students to benefit from an education informed by world-class standards.

Our recommended resource lists have been developed following approximately two months of collaborative work involving our Academic Board, our school leaders representing the many years of educational experience of our international school, campus principals, educational coordinators, British teachers and the relevant subject departments. In selecting these resources, consideration has been given to our students’ ages and developmental stages, academic learning outcomes, teaching methodologies, annual planning and the academic coherence created by the resources when used together.

For this reason, the principal reference point in our selection of resources is the academic expertise, educational model and many years of international school experience of BIS Schools.

With regard to Cambridge School Edition resources, we also believe it is important that the structure of the system is correctly understood. Under the regulations of the Ministry of National Education, schools holding Cambridge accreditation may benefit from Cambridge programmes and content; however, educational materials used by private schools in Türkiye must also comply with the relevant national regulations. In accordance with this framework, Cambridge publications provide resources for schools under the School Edition format.

The School Edition system is therefore not a sales or procurement model created by the school, but a system shaped by the regulatory requirements in Türkiye together with the publisher’s own implementation and distribution model.

Similarly, the fact that certain digital content, platforms and student licences used within our educational programme cannot be purchased individually is a result of the licensing and sales policies of the relevant publishers and content developers. Whether such products are available for individual purchase is determined not by the school, but by the organisations that develop or provide the products.

At this point, we would particularly like to emphasise that, as these digital resources cannot be obtained independently from external sources, students who do not obtain the relevant digital content and licences will not experience any academic loss or deficiency within the core educational programme. Our teachers will continue to provide all students with the same curriculum, the same academic learning outcomes and the same educational standards with equal care and attention.

Students who have access to the relevant digital content and licences will additionally be able to benefit from these platforms for study sessions, additional exercises, reinforcement activities, independent study, assessment and evaluation, and supplementary content supporting continuity of learning outside school. Digital resources are therefore not a substitute for the core educational programme, but are used as complementary academic tools that enrich and reinforce the learning process and expand opportunities for independent study.

It is also important that the stated fees are not regarded solely as the cost of printed books. The amount covers a comprehensive structure that includes coursebooks and workbooks, the K12 platform, digital learning and assessment platforms, student licences, online content, printed supplementary materials, visual and digital educational content, as well as other materials and applications that will be used throughout the academic year as part of the academic programme.

For this reason, the amount should not be evaluated solely on the basis of the number of books or the combined individual retail prices of those books. Rather, it should be considered as the complete academic materials and content system that supports the student’s learning throughout an academic year, enables the school to implement its intended educational standards, includes the applications and resources to be provided throughout the year, and supports the sustainability of this system as a whole.

Parents who wish to obtain resources through alternative channels are advised to ensure that they select the correct edition, the most up-to-date version, and original and/or appropriately licensed products in order to avoid any incompatibility during the educational process.

In addition, following discussions with the publishing company, it has been agreed that the prices offered to parents in July will remain fixed and that the payment option will be extended to six instalments. The 10% discount applicable to payments made in full will also remain unchanged.

We would also like to take this opportunity to clarify one aspect of our school’s overall pricing approach. Despite the limited capacity and high level of demand at our Çamlıca Campus, during the campus’s initial years our tuition fees have been maintained at a very reasonable level compared with schools in a similar segment. This approach has been adopted in order to establish a strong and sustainable school culture, attract families whose approach is aligned with the values of our school, and provide our students with high-quality education under accessible conditions.
