At BIS Schools, our primary priority is to ensure that common academic standards are consistently implemented across all our campuses and that every student receives a high-quality, sustainable and holistic education aligned with our institutional values and educational culture.

In this context, under the regulations of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, parents are not required to purchase the educational resources recommended for our students. The purchase of these resources is neither a condition of enrolment nor a requirement for continued attendance at our school.

At the same time, the quality of a school’s education is shaped not only by its curriculum and teaching staff, but also by the complete academic framework surrounding the student. This includes printed resources, digital content, educational platforms, assessment tools and all other materials designed to support the learning process.

In order to maintain the same educational standards across all BIS Schools campuses, as well as the academic approach rooted in our international school culture, our educational programme is carefully planned around resources, content and materials that have been thoroughly reviewed from both pedagogical and academic perspectives. These resources are aligned with international educational approaches, meet defined quality standards and support our commitment to providing students with an education of international quality.

Our recommended resource lists have been developed through approximately two months of collaborative work involving our Academic Board, senior leaders representing the long-standing educational experience of our international school, campus principals, academic coordinators, British teachers and relevant subject departments. When selecting these resources, we considered our students’ ages and developmental stages, academic learning objectives, teaching methodologies, annual curriculum planning and the academic coherence between the different resources used throughout the year.

For this reason, the key reference point in our selection of resources is the academic expertise, educational model and long-standing international school experience of BIS Schools.

We would also like to clarify the structure surrounding Cambridge School Edition resources. Under the regulations of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, Cambridge-accredited schools may benefit from Cambridge programmes and educational content. At the same time, educational materials used in private schools in Türkiye must comply with the relevant national regulations. In accordance with this framework, Cambridge publications provide resources for schools under the School Edition model.

The School Edition system is therefore not a sales or supply model created by the school. It is a structure shaped by the regulatory requirements in Türkiye together with the publisher’s own implementation and distribution policies.

Similarly, certain digital content, educational platforms and student licences used as part of our academic programme cannot be purchased individually. This is determined by the licensing and sales policies of the relevant publishers and content providers, rather than by the school. Whether these products are available for individual purchase is decided by the organisations that develop or provide them.

At this point, we would particularly like to emphasise that, as some digital resources cannot be obtained independently, students who do not have access to these digital content packages or licences will not experience any loss or deficiency in their core academic programme. Our teachers will continue to deliver the same curriculum, the same academic learning objectives and the same standard of education to every student with equal care and commitment.

Students who have access to the digital content and licences will be able to use these platforms additionally for study sessions, supplementary exercises, reinforcement activities, independent learning, assessment and evaluation, and other supporting content that helps maintain continuity of learning outside school.

Digital resources should therefore not be regarded as a replacement for the core educational programme. Rather, they serve as complementary academic tools designed to enrich and reinforce learning and to provide students with additional opportunities for independent study.

It is also important to note that the stated fees should not be understood as the cost of printed books alone. The package represents a comprehensive academic provision that includes coursebooks and workbooks, the K12 platform, digital learning and assessment platforms, student licences, online content, supplementary printed materials, visual and digital educational resources, as well as other materials and applications that will be used throughout the academic year as part of the educational programme.

For this reason, the fee should not be evaluated simply on the basis of the number of books provided or the combined individual retail prices of those books. Rather, it should be considered as the cost of an integrated academic resource and content system that supports the student’s learning throughout the entire academic year, enables the school to deliver its intended educational standards, provides access to year-long academic applications and resources, and supports the sustainability of this educational framework.

Parents who choose to obtain printed resources through alternative channels are advised to ensure that they purchase the correct edition, the most recent version, and original and appropriately licensed products in order to avoid any incompatibility with the academic programme.

Following discussions with the publishing company, it has also been agreed that the prices offered to our parents in July will remain unchanged and that the payment option will be extended to six instalments. The existing 10% discount for advance payment will also continue to apply.

We would also like to take this opportunity to clarify an important aspect of our school’s overall pricing approach. Despite the limited capacity of our Çamlıca Campus and the strong level of demand, during the campus’s first years we have deliberately maintained our tuition fees at a highly reasonable level compared with schools in a similar segment. Our aim has been to establish a strong and sustainable school culture, welcome families whose educational expectations and values are aligned with those of our school, and provide our students with access to high-quality education under reasonable conditions.
